  • 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea -- Marvelous Disney version of the classic Jules Verne sea yarn about a maurading red-eyed monster sinking 19th-century ships some of whose survivors (Kirk Douglas, Paul Lukas and Peter Lorre) are taken aboard the submarine "Nautilus" by the embittered Captain Nemo (James Mason) who wants to rule the seas. Directed by Richard Fleischer, the story is great fun for all ages and the special effects are really special. (A-I) (G) ( 1954 )
