The policy of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) requires that media inquiries to staff go through the Office of Communications, (202) 541-3200.
Media staff will arrange on-the-record telephone, radio, TV and print media interviews, as well as background briefings for media as appropriate and will provide whatever other assistance is needed to facilitate media coverage of the Church.
Media accreditation for the two annual meetings of the USCCB also is arranged through the Department of Communications. The department also assists in accrediting U.S. media seeking to cover pastoral visits of the Pope to various countries around the world.
The Communications Department distributes news releases several times a week and posts information for news media on its Website, www.usccb.org/comm/.
In addition to producing this Source Book, the Communications Department publishes for sale the annual Photo Membership Directory of the Bishops and a Directory of Catholic Communication Personnel.
