Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference

Budapest
September 12, 2001

The Members of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops' Conference were profoundly shocked to learn about the terrorist attacks happened in the United States of America. In these hours of tragedy we assure the Most Reverend Members of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops of our compassion, and we pray for the dead and injured. We implore God of the Universe that He may give consolation and hope to the relatives of the victims in their grief. Moreover we pray that the peace of Jesus Christ may be improved in the human hearts and in the whole world.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

István Seregély
Archbishop of Eger,
President
