Congregation for Catholic Education

Rome, Italy
September 14, 2001

In the name of everyone at the Congregation for Catholic Education, I wish to express through you our condolences to the people of the USA, in the wake of the tragic events of Tuesday. We are appalled by the terrorist violence that has been shamefully inflicted on America. At the same time, we stand strong in faith and turn to God our heavenly Father, the salvation of His people, asking Him to come to our aid in these days of mourning and of innocent suffering.

Your Excellency, we have prayed as a Congregation for your country at this time. Please be assured that we shall continue to pray for you.

With deepest sympathy, I am

+Zenon Cardinal Grocholewski
